📢 Deaf Plus Training 101 presented by GLAD and North Los Angeles County Region Center available from July through January 2027
Who can attend? Families, Vendors, and Regional Center Staff. All five trainings are provided virtually via Zoom.
📅 July 6, 2026 🕐 9 AM – 11 AM: Supported Living Services and Resources – To support independence, educational success, and quality of life for DeafPlus individuals through coordinated services, individualized planning, and access to community resources.
📅 October 19, 2026 🕐 9 AM – 11 AM: Language deprivation and its impact on development – To prevent and reduce the impacts of language deprivation by increasing awareness, early indenification, and implementation of accessible language strategiess for DeafPlus individuals
📅 November 2, 2026 🕐 9 AM – 11 AM: Communication Accommodations for the DeafPlus Community – To ensure consistent, effective, and individualized communication access by identifying, implementing, and matainataining appropriate communication accommodtions
📅January 11, 2027 🕐 9 AM – 11 AM: DeafPlus 101 – To increase knowledge and cultural competence among participants so they can interacr respectfully, effectively, and confidenaly with DeafPlus individuals
