Event Guidelines
The purpose of DEAF CAL’s online events calendar is to welcome signing, deaf* and deaf friendly communities and feature events in American Sign Language (ASL) for local residents and visitors in Southern California. The primary audience for the calendar is ASL and signing communities, in keeping with our mission.

Event Requirements
Events must be of interest to and able to welcome ASL and signing communities.
Events must be submitted at least 30 days in advance for guaranteed consideration. Events submitted less than 5 days prior to the event date will not be considered.
External event website must reflect date and information submitted in event listing or event cannot be approved.
Events must be legally operated according to CA tax, health, and local city codes, laws, and regulations.
Virtual events are accepted from businesses, organizations or attractions that have current listings on the DEAF CAL website, if the event complies with other requirements above.
Event Submission Requirements
Descriptions must be between 250 and 1500 characters (not words) to be accepted into the database.
DEAF CAL reserves the right to reject or rewrite any listing that does not have a compelling headline or description.
At least one image that meets quality specifications must be submitted for an event to be considered for inclusion.
Image size requirements call for a maximum of 1920 x 1080 pixels landscape OR 1080 x 1350 pixels vertical, JPG or PNG format at 72 DPI. Minimum size is 1080 x 1080 pixels.
How to Submit Your Event
First, search the calendar for your event to make sure it hasn’t already been entered.
Click “Submit Event” from that page or go directly to our form. Enter as much information as possible about your event and click “Add Event.”
Once submitted, your event will be reviewed by DEAF CAL team and posted to our calendar. DEAF CAL may edit event information for grammar, style and accuracy. Entries will be reviewed and posted within 3 business days of submission. Note: If DEAF CAL has its own article or description of your event, your submission will be merged with that content.
