Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) Specialist to join our team. This role involves assessing, supporting, and advocating for students who are deaf or hard of hearing to ensure their educational success. The position offers a hybrid work schedule to accommodate on-site and remote work as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct assessments and evaluations for students who are deaf or hard of hearing to determine their educational needs.
• Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Provide direct and consultative support to students and staff to ensure access to appropriate educational services and accommodations.
• Recommend and facilitate the use of assistive technology and other accommodations for students.
• Provide professional development and training to school staff regarding strategies and tools to support students with hearing impairments.
• Monitor student progress and adjust support plans as necessary to promote academic and social success.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:
• Credential: Possession of a valid California credential authorizing services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Experience: Previous experience working with D/HH students in an educational setting is preferred.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Proficiency in sign language (ASL or SEE) is a plus.
• Technology: Familiarity with assistive technology and tools used by students with hearing impairments.
